Tsavo West National Park

Tsavo West National Park is one of Kenya’s largest and most dramatic safari destinations, located in the southern part of the country as part of the greater Tsavo ecosystem. The park is known for its rugged volcanic landscapes, rolling savannahs, lava flows, and scenic hills, creating a striking contrast of environments that support a wide variety of wildlife. It is home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and a rich diversity of bird species. One of its most famous attractions is Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear underground water flows into pools that host hippos and crocodiles, offering excellent underwater viewing experiences. Tsavo West also features the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, which protects endangered black rhinos, and scenic sites such as Sheldrick Falls and the Shetani Lava Flow. Visitors enjoy game drives, nature walks in designated areas, birdwatching, and photography in a vast and less crowded wilderness. Its diverse landscapes, rich wildlife, and unique geological features make Tsavo West National Park a remarkable and adventurous safari destination in Kenya.
